THRACE, Perinthus. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Time of Claudius or Nero, circa AD 41-68. Æ 23mm (5.28 g). Wreathed and draped bust of Dionysos right; thyrsos before / Hera of Samos advancing right. RPC 1764 corr. (description of Hera); Schönert, Perinthe, 81 (same dies). VF, green patina, light smoothing. Rare.

The authors of RPC incorrectly group Schönert 76-84 into one type, even though there are two distinct varieties; one with a statue of Hera facing (76-80) and one with Hera walking right (81-84).
